Oasis Planning Knebworth 20th Anniversary Album and Documentary

To read this on Conversations About Her, click here.
According to Noel Gallagher in an interview with German magazine Event, the band are planning to release a live album and documentary based on their 1996 Knebworth House gigs. Gallagher was asked in the interview if a documentary was in the works, to which he replied: “Oh yeah! Just because it'll be the 20th anniversary of our Knebworth concerts in 2016. And because we're a bunch of nutters, we've completely forgotten that we had actually filmed the whole thing. With like 20 cameras and a lot of what happened on the festival ground as well. Like fans arriving, backstage sequences, interviews and flights over the area. Which we've never released. I've no idea why.”
Oasis played to a combined audience of 250,000 at two huge outdoor shows on August 10th and 11th 1996. Noel has also described the event as the highlight of the band’s career.
"We decided that 2016 would be a good moment to do so, since Knebworth was the highlight of our career. We think that the 20th would make a good occasion to reflect on that, or to tell the history of Oasis – and then leave it at that. So far there's going to be a documentary and a live album.”
So, with all the nostalgia of Knebworth, could it be only a matter of time until Oasis reform? Noel has said he would be willing to reform the band, but has also said that the decision wouldn’t be solely up to him.“It’s not up to me. Who knows if Liam wants to do it? He probably does, but I don’t know.”
Whatever happens, a new Oasis release will definitely be exciting.

In other Oasis flashbacks, this week also marks the 19th anniversary of the band’s single ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ reaching the #1 spot on the UK singles charts on 25th February 1996.

Fall Out Boy- Irresistible Music Video

Fall Out Boy Release Video for Irresistible- It’s The Weirdest Yet
It’s no surprise that a music video from Fall Out Boy will be a little strange, but their video for ‘Irresistible’ is certainly the oddest one to date. Released from their newest album American Beauty/American Psycho, ‘Irresistible’ acts as the band’s latest UK single.
Forget gladiators, antlers and dressing up as steak. The new video sees the guys take on basketball, and in true Fall Out Boy style, it’s pretty hilarious.
Watch the video below.

Fall Out Boy are also touring the UK later this year- catch them at the following:

Tom DeLonge To Release Solo Music in March

To read this Conversations About Her, click here.

The last couple of weeks have been hectic for all members of blink-182 after their public squabbles on social media and through the press about who’s in and out of the band, and now it seems like the dust has started to settle. It definitely seems as though Tom DeLonge is out of the band, but that hasn’t put an end to his music talents. According to a Facebook post, Tom will be releasing solo music on March 1st.
The post read: "I have a lot of music I was working hard on. Things happen, so I guess we have a change of plans… Either way, I think you guys should hear it. #SongsWithoutAHome #ToTheStars #TomDelonge"
Whether this new material was meant for blink-182 or not is as yet unknown, but his reference to a ‘change of plans’ makes it seem that way. Snippets of the new material can be found on Tom’s Instagram page with the hashtag #SongsWithoutAHome. With less than a month until the release date, and putting the past firmly in the past, hearing new material from the singer/guitarist is not to be missed.
Meanwhile, over at blink-182, Mark Hoppus posted a photo on his Instagram of the road cases that the band will be using for their upcoming shows, indicating that the band have also moved on from its recent upheavals. This may not be the way the band and its members, both current and former, wanted to go, but recent events haven’t held any of them back. With every ending comes a new beginning, and this could turn out to be the best thing for everyone.

Watch Trailer For ‘Like Sunday, Like Rain’ Starring Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong

To read this on Conversations About Her, click here.
The official trailer for Like Sunday, Like Rain, starring Billie Joe Armstrong, has been released. The Green Day frontman plays a troubled boyfriend in the film. It is set to open in selected cinemas across US cities in March, including New York on March 13 and LA on March 20. Read the description of the film and watch the trailer below. “Surrounded by wealth and living with abundant resources in Manhattan, 12-year-old cello prodigy Reggie, lives a solitary life lacking only frequently absent parents and friends. Estranged from family, having slacker boyfriend troubles, and fired from her waitressing job, sometimes musician 23-year-old Eleanor needs a new place to live and a new job“.

In other Green Day news, Billie Joe said in a recent interview that the band would be regrouping this year but need some family time first; “We have a lot of heavy stuff going on right now. Everyone needs to be with their families. We keep in touch with each other. If I was to say, “Hey man, let’s make a record right now!” they’d be like, “Are you out of your fucking mind?” I realize that. It’s good to have a little bit of distance from the creative process because you end up wanting to get back to it even more when the time is right“. Could this mean the return of Green Day in 2015? After two years away after their UNO! DOS! TRE! trilogy, it’ll be amazing to see them back.

Mass Lines- Demo

To read this on We Plug Good Music, click here.
Loud. Energetic. Fast. Those are just three words that come to mind when listening to Canterbury-based garage punk band Mass Lines. Officially forming around 15 months ago, but with each member previously playing in different bands, Mass Lines consists of vocalist Chris Thomas, guitarist Tom Bowen, bassist Nick Thomas and drummer Jack Handford. Chris also plays guitar in punk band Cosmic Thoughts. Demo is Mass Line’s, well, demo, and was recorded last year. It’s in-your-face and full of that edgy punk vibe, preparing fans for the official releases of the future.
The band have rather eclectic tastes, and this has meant that many different bands have influenced their music. With some main influences coming from Cursed and Burning Love and others from bands like MeWithoutYou, this wide variety certainly comes through. This four-track demo is powerful and gritty from start to finish, but also has that sense of rock and roll.
The opening track, “Dogville Bites Back” is heavy and has a great beat. The introduction slowly gets faster until Chris’ distinctive vocals add another dimension to the song. The meaning of the song is quite dark and some might say it’s controversial, referring to girls entertaining men. “It’s only entertainment” and “Grit your teeth and play the part” are repeated lyrics which add to the meaning of the song. The band is made up of only three instruments and vocals which, compared to other punk bands, is quite small, but that doesn’t mean that there is any less power and soul to the music. With fast drums and the use of only a few chords, the band’s punk attitude and influence really comes through and sets the demo off to a powerful start.

A personal favourite is the third song, “Young Punks“. The song itself is about how “young punks grow old” but how “there will always be targets” to rebel against. It is definitely a song I can imagine being played at full volume way back in the start of the punk era, the same vibes come from this song as do from many of the punk classics (Sex Pistols and The Clash instantly come to mind).
The guitar riffs in this song match the fast drums perfectly, making this song as one whose listener is impossible to sit still while listening to. As well as the punk roots coming through, ‘Young Punks’ also shows the band’s rock and roll influences too with the bridge in the middle- this particular section gives the image of the song being played on an old jukebox. “Young Punks” really gives the heart to record and is a truly fantastic song.

Closing the demo is a song called “365“. With the same great beat and incredible guitar riffs, “365″ is a song that makes you want to have a great time and jump along to the music. This song is a reminder of the amazing punk scenes of the 60’s and 70’s, bringing the band’s influences right to the forefront. The vocals, just as they have in the previous songs, compliment the original punk rockers The Benders to give the song a fantastic mix of punk and rock and roll. “365″ is a definite strong and well-rounded finish.

In all, this is a demo that brings new age angst and old school punk and rock and roll together in a way that makes it unforgettable. The demo recordings are absolutely incredible, so it gives you an idea of how talented these guys are and how good the final recordings will be. Mass Lines will be playing at the Power Lunches Arts Café in Hackney on February 7 alongside Weak Nerves, Death Pedals and Blood Lips, with future gig dates to be announced by Mass Lines, so be sure to keep an eye out and catch them live to see their feisty punk stage presence and experience their powerful music first hand.
